James NG

James Ng is a local Jazz composer, arranger, performer and educator.

Majoring in Jazz composition while in Berklee,

James graduated with experience in Composition and directing ensembles of all sizes ranging from classical to contemporary jazz.

 

His performing and composition style can be seen with his recent band FEP (First Eat Pepper); A fusion groove band that plays his arrangements and compositions.

Some of his work include “Free as we are” (2020 Let's be together 不貧窮藝術節) DIMENSIONAL CIVILIZATION ARCHEOLOGY PROJECT (2022 Art Basel) and his personal EP released in 2023 『當日星 期日』, Mike Stern band’s Personal assistant in 2024 China Tour.

 

Now he continues to work as a freelancer doing composition and arranging work for other musicians and non-musicians alike, being the designer and facilitator of various music workshops, seeping his roots in music education to share what he does best.
