Kwok Shin Ching has graduated with Bachelor in Music, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Kwok is an active orchestral player and she plays several instruments including Violin, Oboe and Piano. As a passionate music educator and musician, Kwok believes that her musical experiences will provide suitable methods for her to guide her students to a lifelong love of music.

She was a violinist in Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong and an oboe principal in Chung Chi Wind Orchestra. In 2010, Kwok joined the performance in the 47th Shanghai World Expo with Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 2013, she participated in “Share the Stage with the HKPhil”, playing under the baton of Maestro Lorin Maazel. Kwok has performed in a concert co-organized by Le French May and CUHK Music Department. In Aug 2022, She played violin solo in a choir concert held by Fluente Chorus, and was also the second violin principal in the musical "Man of la Mancha" by Chung Ying Theatre.

Kwok is also a piano and singing enthusiast. In November 2016, Kwok performed as a soloist with the Chung Chi Choir, singing the famous On My Own from the Les Misérables Medley. In the same year, she was selected as the Music Director in Papillon Blue in 2016. Since 2017, she has been a guest singer in the local a cappella group “Gay Singers”. She is now teaching in the program "Happy A-ge-cappella by Hong Kong Jockey Club and Yat Po Singers" which teach elderlies acappella.

She developed her interest in composing when she was in high school, and loves to compose and arrange music for her schoolmates for their concerts, also in this concert. Kwok was invited to compose a theme song for the exhibition “Legacy of the Heavenly Breeze: The Art of Gao Qifeng, Chao Shao-an and Au Ho-nien” for the CUHK Art Museum.

 

In 2022 she won the call for score activity held by Hong Kong Piccolo Association. She also wrote a piece in 2018 for the Duo "The Arc" and premiered in London. In the coming summer 2023, Fluente Chorus is going to perform her new choral work "Reborn".  Her achievements in composition have earned her The Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Ltd. Scholarship 2017/2018 and Oram Charitable Trust Scholarship 2016/17.
